Your daughter has been dreaming and planning her Sweet 16 party since her age reached double digits. From the theme to the cake, everything has to be just right. You’ve chosen a ballroom as your event venue because the guest list keeps growing, and you don’t want all the mess at your home. Whether or not you’re planning a sit-down meal or just snacks, you want to make sure that you send the kids home fully fed after a night of dancing and fun. Here are a few cool food stations to set up at the end of your Sweet 16 party in a ballroom.
Kids love nachos with ooey gooey cheese and fresh salsa. Have your caterer set up a nacho station with tortilla chips and a variety of cheese. You can include fresh veggies, such as chunks of tomatoes, diced onions, and shredded lettuce. Consider offering some cooked meats, including chicken, pork, and beef.
Makeup both chicken and pork barbecue for sandwiches. The fun part of this station can be the variety of sauces. You can offer a selection of sauces from around the country since they’re all so different from Kansas City sweet heat to the Carolina’s mustard and vinegar based sauces. Add pickles and a selection of rolls to round it out.
Since it’s going to be a late night, you can offer the kids an early start on breakfast. Don’t forget a selection of meats, such as sausage and bacon along with eggs. For a lighter side, offer jams, jellies and honey. For the southerners in the group, you must have gravy.
