woman-traveling

When you’re planning a wedding and sending out invitations, you can expect to have a few out-of-town guests that arrive in Orlando a few days before the big event, and it falls to you to make them feel welcomed. Of course, many people will attend your wedding for a chance at a short trip to Orlando with its sunny weather and theme parks. Since these people are family and friends, you want them to feel comfortable and part of the festivities from the moment they arrive to the time that they leave.

Welcome Kit

Contact the hotel that your out-of-town guests are staying at to see about placing a welcome kit in each of the rooms. Take small baskets and place a variety of fun things in it. Add a bottle of water and some snacks. You can add a map of the local area and a list of local restaurants that you recommend. If they’re traveling with children, put coloring books and crayons in the basket.

Pizza Party

Ask a friend who isn’t part of the wedding party to organize a pizza party for the out-of-town guests on the evening of the rehearsal dinner. This gives everyone a chance to get to know each other in a casual setting. It also allows family members to catch up.

Going Away Brunch

If you’re not planning to leave for your honeymoon on the night of your wedding, consider having a going away brunch the morning after your wedding for out-of-town guests. This helps to relieve some of the pressure to talk to everyone during the reception since you’ll be seeing them the following morning.
