Winter does not just mean Christmas. It’s also a wonderful time for weddings, especially Florida weddings, since the air will be crisp but the roads will be clear.
Today, we’ve put together a list of beautiful winter Wedding Ballroom ideas (specified for Florida) and how to incorporate them into your “I do” day.
1.) Think hot for your cocktail hour. Hot chocolate with marshmallows (and peppermint schnapps). Apple cider (with caramel vodka). Serve drinks in mugs with your wedding date printed and allow your guests to take them home as a nice and practical party favor.
2.) Don’t go too dark. Traditionally, we think of dark, deep colors for winter. But Florida is always sunny, even when it’s a brisk 40 degrees outside. Add pastels or brights into your palette of darks. Think forest green with blanched almond and turquoise, maroon with magenta and warm grey, violet with khaki and aquamarine, burgundy with hot pink and cream.
3.) Think about the senses. Visual appeal is often the prominent sense we consider when planning a wedding, and it is certainly an important piece of any event. But with a winter wedding, there is room for fluffy blankets or gloves that make us feel cozy. Consider providing these, especially if your wedding is set outside. Think about smells like cinnamon and cloves, pine, sugarplums, apple pie. These are the smells that warn us winter is here, and make us want to be near our loved ones. Incorporate these scents by using candles or herbs in your centerpieces.
If you are getting married this winter, planning needs to start now! If your winter wedding is set for 2017, you’re in good shape. But it’s never too early to start. Contact us for more information on how we can help you!
