When you’re planning your wedding at the Crystal Ballroom in Metro West, you have two goals in mind. You want the day to be special for you and your groom, and you want your guests to have fun. This requires a lot of planning on your part. You take the time to pick out your dream theme, colors, food and activities. Today, many brides offer a cocktail hour for guests between the wedding and the reception to keep guests occupied while the bridal party takes photos. Here are few fun ideas to occupy your guests during cocktail hour.
Imagine how much fun it would be for your guests to try their hand at playing Jenga when the pieces are the size of a brick. You can also create giant board games. Games, such as Scrabble and Checkers, are easy to make because they’re primarily black and white without a lot of graphics. If someone in your family is crafty, they can make up a couple of giant games easily.
This is a great way for your guests to get to know each other and for you to get some great candid photos. Provide each guest with a scavenger hunt list and a throw-away camera. Create several different lists for the guest to scavenger photos, such as a pink dress, a red tie, a cute child, a guest from the bride’s side and an out-of-town guest. Make sure that the last item is a photo of the guest so you end up with a photo of everyone.
Hire an artist to make fun and silly pictures of your guests. Your guests can enjoy their time in the hot seat and have a wonderful item to take home. It’ll be a great memory from your wedding.
At the Crystal Ballroom, we want to make sure that each of our brides and her guests has a great time. Please call us today to learn more.
