When you rent Crystal Ballroom, you might think that you don’t really need to put much effort into decorating, since the venue is already so beautiful. However, you can make it look much more so by paying attention to the process of decorating. Plus, you can put your own personal stamp on it by using a color combination of your choice.
Pastel Color Combinations
Make sure that the colors you choose are in keeping with the general theme of your event. Most people go with pastel colors but you can also go for something brighter like dark blue and magenta. The trick is to mix things up a little.
- If you’re going for a pink theme, you can use draperies and flowers in pink, ivory and maybe a touch of magenta.
- If you’re going for a sky-blue theme, include some white and dark blue as well. A touch of yellow can also present a nice contrast.
- Mauve is not as commonly used a color as pink or blue. However, it has a certain elegance which cannot be matched. However, be careful how much purple you use to combine with mauve because purple can be a rich, overpowering color.
Brighter Color Combinations
If you prefer darker, richer colors to pastels, you can go with combinations like magenta and cream or cobalt blue and cream. When you use darker colors, be careful to make sure you don’t overuse them or your venue might end up looking darker and heavier than expected. Just remember that a little goes a long way. You can still create major drama with a few carefully-placed drapers in dark blue or magenta.
Remember to consider the colors the bride and bridesmaids will be wearing before you decide on the décor for the event. Although these don’t have to match exactly, you should make sure that they don’t clash.
